Blackberry, plum, furniture polish (burned off later), licorice, and earth. Words like pure and supple come to mind. Needs food to balance the acidity and tannin. Unfortunately the tannin sucks away some of the mid-palate. Decent finish. Enjoyable, much better than the first bottle I tried.

Plummy, earthy nose with peppery vegetal notes and a hint of saddle leather. Medium bodied, with nice concentration and resolved tannins and a medium length, chewy finish. Mature and pleasant if not particularly complex.

Chateau Figeac - 35 year vertical tasted blind 1985-2019: Palate calibration wine. From MAG. Quite meager with stinging acidity. Not much pleasure

Very nice bottle. Plums, cherries and earth. Definitely tastes mature. Nice weight on the palate with still-noticeable tannins on the back end.

Plumbs and leather on the nose. Sweet cherries on the palate, with a slight sour note on the finish. Good, but seemed a little disjointed.
