Decanted for 1 hour. Color was brick red with orange edge. Strange nose of sour wet earth. Not pleasent, but it quickly disappeared. Nice palate with dark fruit. Cherries and spice. Nice finish.

relatively consistent with my note from 2/2011. Decanted 30 minutes before enjoying with pizza. Menthol, tobacco, sour cherry, cherry on nose. On palate, dried cherry, fig, tobacco, dirt on medium body with medium+ acids. Excellent with pizza. Needed 1+ hours of air to shine. 92+ [edit] Still going strong 3 nights later - nice old school Brunello - sour cherry / tobacco / dirt / earthiness more evident on night 3.

Elegant full bodied wine enjoyed with Osso Bucco. Medium finish, dark berry and pepper flavours. This wine may need to be decanted for >1hr to increase the balance and overall rating.

Did not enjoy this bottle as much as my last bottle t/n from 2/2011 - ironically, my wife enjoyed this more than although it was reversed on the last tasting. Didn't take good notes and enjoyed with lamb. Only decanted for 1.5 hours so that could have been the problem - didn't taste as balanced (and enjoyable) as prior tasting with a medium length finish. 89-90 this tasting.

Let this open up for a couple of hours. Old school Brunello, earthy/truffles , dried herbs, blackcherry and old leather aromas. Nice black cherry flavours, licorice, tea. Some savoury herbs as well. A bit rustic in nature .... still a few edges to this wine. Drying tannins .. grainy. Medium tannins, medium acidity. Medium to full bodied. Finish is medium in length.

Decanted for 3 hours. Don't think it was enough as it kept improving in the glass. Strange nose of wet earth, dark berries. Nice palate with dark fruit. it was a bit more powerfull than some of the other 04 i have tried - that was nice. Nice finish.

Wife opend the bottle to let it slow ox from noon until 6pm. Transferred to decanter at 6pm and then enjoyed 2 hours later. Blackish red and showing some age around edges. Very nice, almost Burgundian nose - earthy (some brett initially but it blew off with time), mushrooms, black cherry. On palate, silky mouthfeel, medium body with good acid / fruit balance. Black cherry / sour cherry / black licorice. Tannins integrated but there on the long finish. Excellent with food 91-92 range. Nice old school Brunello. Would buy again. Given prior tasters comments decant for 3+ hours before drinking.

Weird wine even after an hour's decant. Nose reminded us of model glue. Very dry and a tad tannic. Will give my other bottle couple more years to mellow - perhaps come "unglued"

A touch short on the nose but it has come together nicely. Cherry, leather and a strawberry mineral finish. Drinking nicely.

Yucky. Thin, sour and devoid of any fruit. I'm starting to think that I really don't like Italian wine...

Deceiving for a 2004 Brunello. Lack of substance...acid.
