Absolutely a great steak wine. Not so good as a stand alone...a bit harsh. Very good structure, medium finish. I like this wine, but I wish it was softer... perhaps a bit too much PV for my taste. I will let this sit for another year.

Tannic, from the Petite Verdot, but overall nicely balanced, with good acidity. A pretty good value and a nice change in flavor profile from the usual Cabernet blends.

The aroma of Tal Padre is black olive toned with deep mineral driven soil components. It’s foresty and earthy, with a moss and pine character that evolves into wild mushrooms and forest berries with a spin in the glass.
Sassafras, blackcurrant, and dried raspberry introduce the palate. There is a hint of suede which carries with it a tight, firm structure. Delicate spices, just a touch of fruit preserves, and an antique dustiness play into the finish. This is a nicely complex wine with a pleasant, reserved structure, and a very successful and true expression of the varietal.

Solid BIG wine, screaming deal from a winery special a few years ago and it's aged extremely well.

Starting to soften. Pair this with beef, pork, BBQ and you will not be disappointed. Not a subtle wine.

This one bottle went bad. The rest of the case was excellent.

Seemed to have even more fruit than I remember from previous bottles, but still nice balance. The tannins have probably settled down since then.
