dark straw color, pretty nose of white flower, mineral, and melon, soft, lemon, honey, kiwi, apple and Ranier cherry flavors on the palate, elegance, balanced, excellent quality, has a similar mouthfeel to chardonnay, match up with clam linguini

Old Barolos and Riojas (Incontro, Robertson Quay): Very solid wine, especially at its price - and a great way to start dinner. Nose was a little tight, rather minerally, with a touch of herbs and some fleshy white fruit scents - pears I thought. Nice weight on t he palate, with more neutral white fruit showing, just little hints of apples, pears and melon with little lemony undercurrants on the mid-palate. Not exactly zippy, but it had nice balance and good precision, moving into a full finish with a hint of chalk. Almost a little Chablis-like in that aspect. Overall, a really nice little wine, and a good foil for the antipasti that we had, especially the slightly over-salty calamari.

My first Gavi...crisp with a minerality....notes of pear, melon, and apple, solid wine that would be great with oysters

Nice citrus, melon, dry - good acidity. Really enjoyable.

My first Gavi. I really liked this. Dry and citrusy, with great acidity. Like an Italian Albariño. A perfect pairing with shellfish.
