  • Given the price this one is a real steal. Only 8€ in Germany and what you get is really amazing. So far I only had Spanish or Chilean red wines of that quality for such a low price.
35% Pinotage, 35% Merlot, 15% Cabernet, 15% Shiraz. 36 / 36 and 18 months barrel aging (Pinotage / Merlot and Shiraz, none for the Cabernet). 13,5% alcohol.
Nose: Strong, intense, heavy on the oak, tabacco, mocha, leather, ripe plums, cassis and vanilla. You can smell the presence of each grape variety. Pretty Bordeaux style. Really good! 89 p.
Palate: Intense, pretty dry mouthfeel, present tannins, medium body and acidity, ripe, fruity and long finish, medium complex, excellent balance, great texture. 89 p.
Maybe not everyone's taste, you have to like that. It is a strong wine, despite "only" 13,5% alc., and pretty heavy on the oak. Decant it for 30 minutes, opens up and gets smoother. I do like it, great value, very well aged. Considering the price a must have in the cellar. Will hold up for some more years I guess.
