Musty relatively unpleasant nose. Earth and cherry dominate the early taste, with a pepper finish. Aftertaste of sour cherries initially, that cleared with some time open to the air.

This wine has an earthy black cherry, fruit foreward style. It is ripe but not overly so. There is some tartness and medium acidity. It is drinking well now and should probably be consumed in the next year or two.

Dark red violet color; dried berry, tart blackberry, garrigue, lavender, anise nose; tart berry, lavender, oak, pepper, tart plum palate with firm tannins; medium finish (65% Syrah, 35% Grenache)

OK red blend with the typical style of the Northern Rhone, but with the added spice (and a bit of heat) from the Languedoc Rossullon terroir. Cherries, black pepper, and a bit of licorice on the nose, and a fruit-forward palate drive the experience. Nice but by no means memorable. From now until 2015.
