boy was this good. from a collection with excellent provenance, so probably unnaturally youthful. chocolatey, minty, leafy, maybe a few years past peak but still on its plateau. I guessed mid 80s high end Pomerol.

Outstanding. Plenty of fruit left. Sourced four bottles from Benchmark Wines and all four were in great shape. Of the six 1975 wines tonight, this was the top one. Definitely some sediment at the bottom but a surprisingly youthful presentation.

Nice. Nose of Andes chocolate mint candies and a bit of blackcurrant. Quite light in the mouth though it fills out a bit with air. No tannin left. Probably better 5 years ago, but still distinctive.

Base neck fill. Cork came out with a nice pop. Probably 5 or 10 years past its peak, but I still liked this. Lovely nose with deep black fruit, cedar, herbs, and mint. The palate is drying out a bit and couldn't quite match the nose, but with air it filled out with some nice savory dark fruit, dead leaves, and a nice minty flavor. Perhaps lacks a bit of elegance to the tannin, but a very nice old school napa cab.

tough to rate because of the age. it was an amazing bottle that held up well. it had a lot of acidity which surprised me.
