Subtle, easily approachable with short decant. Just plain tasty. Wouldn't hold a lot longer. And the Erna labels are almost as good as the wine, crazy robot blenderhead.

Quite nice with a dry aged Prime steak... No need to decant. If you like Lewis or Neal or those fruit forward cut with a steak knife wines then this is for you

Classic fruit bomb from B&H, but plenty of sophistication too. Nicely layered black and blue fruits, very smooth, long finish. Still at least a few more top years left in this wine.

Very smooth and in a great place right now. A Bordeaux blend (mostly) with a heavy dose of 11% PV and a 7% Syrah wild card. Fruit dominated as you can almost guarantee will be the case with B&H/Erna Schein labels, but the alcohol is pretty well integrated and not a distraction.

Super-ripe on the nose and although that settled down a bit, this was a very ripe, fruit-forward wine of little complexity and even less finesse. Although there was not the quirky acidity of bottles past, I don't hold this offering in any higher regard than most other E.S. offerings drank over the past few years. Give me the Behrens & Hitchcock wines of old and I'd be a much happier camper.

Pure, opaque purple color. Cassis and lead pencil on the nose. Good structure; balanced tannin and acidity. Juicy wine with medium body and finish. I have never tasted a Behrens Family wine that was austere in any way. This was typically delicious and easy to drink.

Decanted and drank by itself. Rich dark colour with a complex nose - some pepper there. Found the wine to be rich but elegant with a smooth finish. The blend works well and leaves me want another one. Will be interested to see how it ages.

Sampled 9/16/11. Decanted 2 hours. Definitely a modern Bordeaux profile. Good Cab fruit starts if off but the 11% Petit Verdot and non-Bordeaux 7% Syrah really give it a kick. Beside loads of well structured black fruits, there is some menthol and sweet vanilla Oak. A very good wine that could improve.

In a word, SOLID. (I know, this isn't my usually verbose review but it was the fourth bottle into a night with long-lost friends & good conversation.) I can say that it was short of "Outstanding".

A much different wine than the 08. Nice fruit compared to the coffee cigar box of 08.

Black and blue fruit on the nose. Dark fruit on the palate with some black pepper. Long finish. Nice wine but not a great QPR.

Had with steak. Great pairing. Wine was very smooth & elegant. Dark fruit with dark chocolate on the back palate. Excellent.
