No formal notes, but this bottle of B&H Kenefick was quite nice. A Vinturi helped the wine, although a decant would be better. I don't believe that this vintage will get any better, so enjoy them sooner rather than later.

Natural cork, enjoyed after slow ox over two days with minimal change. Tons of dark fruit, rich mouthfeel, and a long, smooth finish. More complexity would be welcome, but a highly enjoyable wine nonetheless.

Wine name here is titled wrongly & should read 2004 Behrens & Hitchcock Kenefick Ranch Cuvee. It is not 100% Cabernet Sauvignon & doesn't even include varietal on the label.

Given its age, this was a surprisingly youthful and enjoyable wine - smooth, lovely on the palate, fresh dark fruit and a very nice finish. Definitely needs to be decanted because it throws a great deal of sediment. I am looking forward to drinking my remaining bottles.

Deep berry fruits in the nose and flavor with hints of licorice and coffee. Medium to long finish was a bit harsh at the end, otherwise would have scored higher.

Brought to My dad's birthday dinner. This held up better than expected. I think that it is fully mature without any signs of going south in the near future. There was a < 1/2 teaspoon worth of sediment left in the bottle and none was caught in the filter. Decanted for 1/2 hour. Dark fruit and smooth tannins, still a big bruiser.

Really drinking well. Decanted for about 3 hours. Nose and taste were very attractive immediately out of the cellar, but really got rolling by the time we drank it. Enticing nose with tobacco & leather. Lots of ripe fruit, very juicy. Mature, mouth-filling flavors with a good long finish. Lots to like.
Fully mature, but not showing any signs of fading. Fruit still really strong.

I thought this wine was phenomenal. We decanted this magnum alongside 3 other wines and the B&H was the fan favorite. Mocha covered briary black fruit on the nose with sweet blue and black fruit on the palate with a long 45-60 second finish. We brought way to many wines to the dinner and ended up bringing 1/2 the mag back home. I finally finished it 3 days later and it was still drinking great. It had lost a little fruit and the heat was showing more but what an incredible bottle of juice! I read earlier reviews that thought maybe the wine had peaked and its possible this showed/aged better in large format but I think it could hold for another year or two at least.

Drank over a few hours, got better with each glass. Big CA Cab but not overripe like a lot of B&H's. Maturing well and in a good place right now. I don't think it'll get better, but still has 2-4 years to go.

Filtered and decanted for 1 hour. I was expecting some chunks in the filter but it was completely clean. There was about 1/4 tsp left in the bottle.
The nose was very chocolate dominated at first. After 1 hour of air sweet mature fruit came out. The nose was very high-toned for a 9 year old wine. The appearance was thick and almost cloudy. The palate had olive oil and dark mature fruit. I don't think it will improve but has several drinkable years left. It went great with our Easter dinner of grilled lamb.

Wish I had more time to decant; overall 'Cali cab' structure and format - black fruit, vanilla. A bit too much oak for my palate, but I think too young to knock it for oakiness.

A great start to the evening. A very traditional Napa Cab. Nothing disappointing. Simply in the Cali Cab window. Very solid. Not in the big leagues, but a nice second team.

3/4/2023 - Labrador Does not like this wine:
It was "medicinal" and acidic on the palate. I think the wine (or maybe just this bottle) was past its prime.

Everyone loved this wine. Still with tannin but so much fruit. Overwhelmed by the blackberry. Simply delicious.

PnP'd, then drank over 2 hours. Tannic with minimal fruit. Seems to be tighter than last 2 times (5/2013 & 3/2012). What's up? Disappointing.

Still young. One guy asked for a fork & knife to drink it. Opened up somewhat after a few hours without a decant. Give it more time or long decant.
