  • My hunch is that this wine was not so sophisticated or memorable in its youth. It is just coming into its own. Exquisitely refined, delicate, svelte, quite heavenly, deeply fragant, evolving in the glass, lots of lovely little forest berries, strawberries, a tantalising sweetness, a vivid freshness to offset it, and a long lingering increasingly sexy and seductive finish replete with tertiary sensations of smoke, leather and sweet spices such as cassia bark and mace. Excellent! I enjoyed this beauty at the venerable Drapers Arms in Islington - a true treasure trove of a wine list there, I must say.

  • Clear Ruby red, cherry nose with light mineral. Dry cherry palate, plenty of acid, smooth tannins. Time to drink but lack of excitement

  • Fairly forward cherry/raspberry fruit, minerals, the oak is there but doesn't dominate, charming wine today with the balance and structure to age well
