This wine us past its drinking window, so I had low expectations. Surprisingly I found the wine very good. Amarone have already those fortified wine notes - and this is still the case - wood, earthy tones. Still hint of red fruit. Not a great wine, but absolutely drinkable.

Decent wine that has softened with age and begun to mellow. Moderately sweet cherry with just a little tannin left, this is easy to drink although not profound. Nice wine wne for the $26 price.

An even garnet: clear and bright, and starting to mature. Sweet cherry and chocolate nose with a nice perfume. Very open and expansive on the attack, with big, ripe, sweet fruit flavours. This wine has a velvety textured richness, and enough structure to stop it being over the top. Soft tannins with some acidity on the finish. But all in all, it seems a bit of an average Amarone. Very Good +?

classic style, intially sweet, with a dry, bitter twist on an attractive finish. drinking well now.Has it closed up? weighy though lack life. To standard but not beyond.

A dense deep plum in appearance. Big, expansive nose with marked port-like overtones: lots of blackberry, prunes and woody tobacco. Remarkably light on the attack and even a hint of freshness. Fills hugely. Very big, with good fruit. Towards the finish you get a really prominent amarone bitterness coming to the fore - rather more so than commonly found. Lots of peppery spice on the finish and after. Good length, but loses its character after. Very Good. 15% abv

Past its prime. Good berry and fruit on the nose, but very little raisin that is typical of the tedeschi. Rather thin on the finish.

Worked pretty well with the brisket, always a challenge. Almost a hint of Bdx by the end of the bottle. Would have been interesting with easier fare.
