  • First of all, i believe this is my first time drinking 100% Marsanne so i have nothing to compare it to. This wine is very light in color (like a Sauvignon Blanc) and did not have a big nose, what was there was some grassyness and floral notes It didn't form big legs so I assumed it was a lighter wine--until I tasted it. I was surprised with big full-flavored wine that busted with layers of hot mineral/stone/floral that morphs into a buttery spiciness (ginger, not pepper) with a finish that goes on and on. It is a very unique wine, perhaps more like a very herbal Viognier, that could be a bit of an acquired taste. Drink slowly, let it warm a bit--it will change and grow on you. I'll be searching for other Marasnnes to try now. But I have a feeling I will have a tough time finding one as good as this. I gave it a 91 rating but may come back and revise as I fine some others to compare it to. This does have plenty of life left I believe.

  • Smooth, very close to a fresh Chardonnay. Hints of pear and honey, this was very clean. Drinking very well right now.

  • Light straw color. not very aromatic. Medium to light body. Hot alcohol, unbalanced with bitter finish. Somewhat disappointing.

  • Nose: Pear, bread, lime, and a hint of stone. Taste: Notably oily mouthfeel; weighty. Intense anise and herbal flavors. Long finish. Bone dry. It's well made, but I don't really love the flavor profile. Unlike most wines, the flavor does not vary... its constant and intense from approach to finish. I feel like it could use some more acid or minerality. No score for me... I don't like the style, but it is well made and I can see some people loving this.

  • Just terrific. Restrained stone fruit, backed up with minerality. The bottle was drained quickly, as ABV is a `low' 14%. This drank so clean and sharp, a great alternative to Chard. Wish more producers in CA would make this variety.
