Asperger Wine Syndrome Group Tasting Round (Private Location): Heard some spectacular things about this particular wine from Christoffel but unfortunately this bottle couldn’t fulfill my high expectations. A bit one dimensional with lots of white fruit and a hint of dextrose on the nose. Fine and elegant palate but I miss the fireworks completely. Good but absolutely not great. Maybe just not a perfect bottle?

Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: My next try with Christoffel. Fully developed nose was full of petrol, a bit muted and not overly complex, compared to the 1983 Domprobst before. On the palate off-dry, medium+ acidity, perfectly integrated. Lots of fine, juicy yellow fruit, some bitter notes, typical slate notes. Not as complex as the Domprobst, but also very good, fine and elegant. Medium+, echoing length. Maybe not an optimal bottle, but still: 90-91

After eight, fløte, veldig delikat hint av petro. I munnen kakao og plommer - kombinerer sødme og bitterhet. Lett og elegant for en Auslese. Deilig vin, ikke superkomplisert, men heller ikke til å bælme. Litt kort i ettersmaken.

The wine has a smal fine l taste of peaches, petrolium and still have a ok acid. Worked well with homemade sashimi and grilledfish with herbs (röding) It seems that Christoffel´s wines only get better with time.

Elegant and subtle, it has aged beautifully, showing notes of petrol, honeysuckle, pears, green tea, and citrus. The palate is balanced, not too intense and still fresh. A great wine to pair with Foie Gras.

This is what I'm taking about: petrol, baked apple, rose water, dried peach, orange peel, minerality, steel and a hint of peat on the nose. Long rich midpalate with petrol, minerality, baked apple, yellow flowers, sweet tea, and a long finish with melon and flint. Lovely.

Extremely petroly on the nose.
I'd say this wine is past peak and on the way down.
