From a split via SommSelect. In good condition and well beyond primary. Dried fruit and oxidized. No secondary savory aspects but lots of sweet tobacco. Soft and flabby for my tastes. Would prefer some acid but I'm loving the modest abv and pipe tobacco.
Decent amount of sediment even after upright for 7 days.

It has been 3 years since I drank my 2006 and it is still great, if not slightly better. I presented this last Saturday at my wine tasting. It was a favorite. Can not find any faults with this wine.

I had approximately 1 1/2 glasses of this at a restaurant in Tampa, FL. My friend and I split a glass while trying out three different red wines available by the glass. We both decided we preferred this over a Moulin-a-Vent and a Brunello, at least for how it paired with our steaks, so we each ordered another glass of the Cabernet. At this stage, almost a decade after harvest, the oak is integrated and tannins are negligible; drinking smoothly. Black currant notes typical of Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry, plum, dust and vanilla. It tastes like cherry, plum, vanilla and with a very light hint of oak. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. Tannins were soft and the wine itself exhibited a softness which made it very easy to drink.

Second wine has not shown so well. Very green on the first night, without much going on. After some air, it opened to a decent if not forgettable cab. Some earth and tar right away, but that quickly fades. Maybe its just shutdown? Or maybe its not going anywhere? I'll leave my last bottle alone for a few years.

Simple on day 1. Nothing much going on, smooth average cab. The next night it was more interesting. Minerals and lots of tar. But still very medium weight. Seems like it will be a very nice wine in a few years, just not there yet. I'll hold my others for awhile.

Aged beautifully. Mature red fruits. Dried back cherry and blackberry. Very smooth. Integrated tannins. Drink now and enjoy.

Riper, more plummy fruit on the nose than the 2005 (or 2010) for that matter. palate holds the style, sleek elegant refined.
