We pnp'd, dark fruit on the nose, the palate was dark berries, plums, tobacco and dried thyme. A moderate length finish made this an enjoyable drinking experience. Great QPR.

We pnp'd at dinner. Dark fruit on the nose, the palate was berry, plum, coffee and hint of dried herbs. Finish was decent. Overall an enjoyable bottle of wine.

I think I picked this up at the winery, which I've visited a few times. This is really quite pretty and has some serious backbone. Smokey, tobacco, oaky tones. There's a slight stridency on the finish making it feel a bit overcooked, or it could be that there was a period where I didn't have this stored in a temperature-controlled environment, so it may have been impacted by some high temperature..
On the 2nd day this became an altogether better wine; more composed, deeper, darker with new chocolate and coffee tones, even more serious. I'm often disappointed by cabs from Sonoma vs. Napa, but this was a pleasant surprise. I was similarly impressed by the '04 of the same wine I had a few years ago. 91+pts.

Red and blacks and some heat on the nose. A bit austeer. Weight and mouthfeel are medium to full. The palate gives up mostly black fruits, and lacks complexity. Very dry finish.

I think it's about 40% new oak, mix of French and American. Lots of skin tannin, I think. I like the wine very much, decent structure with a good acid level and not the gobs of aggressive American oak you can get. Especially worthwhile at the price point.

Very nice, probably a little better the second night. It's not as sharply etched as the 2007 Napa Cabs, but it shares that combination of welcoming black fruit and solid structure.

Actually, that isn't true. Palate creeps up and has quite a bit of tannins. What an unusual wine. Soft and fruity on the front and then very grippy on the back. What a weird wine.

Some from Rockpile, some from Dry Creek, and some Alex. 90% French, 22 month in barrel, but we don't know if the oak is new or not.
Sweetly fruited but with some cabernet like structure to it. A massively fruit driven wine with then this structure. Really grippy. Shockingly grippy. Were those barrels new? Where the hell is the tannin coming from?

Wines Rated 90 Points or Better (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had lots of black currant and dirt, some vanilla and and chocolate, and a touch of spice. The palate had lots of dark, sour fruit. It also had earth and spice, and a slightly sweet, oaky finish.

Fruit forward with a thin finish. A little better after a few hours.

I believe this wine needs a few more years for the tannins to soften and integrate. Shows potential to be much better in a few years.

Easy, inoffensive fruit-forward drinking. Not bad, but nothing to intellectualize over. Consume now.
