deep golden color. Nose lemon and florals, seashells, very nice. Palate good richness/concentration, lemon rind flavor with very pleasing cream note, great balance with some acidity. Aging very well to my palate

Can't believe I've just had a 2003 white. Bought at a private event in 2006 and the Gaja rep made me promised not to drink it for at least 10 years. I had forgotten about the six bottles I had in my cellar until a few weeks ago, and opened and cautiously poured the first glass.....good body, nice nose, maybe weakening a bit but still a nice slightly sweet citrus, and a good balance. Very surprisin, given that, in this country we've learned to believe that while wines are to be purchased and consumed immediately. And then THIS happens. New believer in Old Country whites. Nice surprise.

This is a delicious Chardonnay with a bit of Sauvignon Blanc that pairs well with oysters and seafoods. While I generally find Gaja wines overpriced compared to the competition, I found this one pretty close to being competitive (only about 10-20% overpriced for my taste rather than the 50% or more for the great reds Gaja makes).
The pale gold strw color was attractive and pulled you into the complex nose of citrus and musty oaky scents. The nice clean taste and fresh acidity make this an excellent food wine.

Angelo Gaja at ABS-SP (ABS-SP): Yellow/straw with some golden nuances. Limpid and clear. Intense honey on the nose, after swirling reveals citric fruits and flowers. Good body, opulent, nice balance but good use some extra acidity. Lenghty and pleasurable finish. Gaja sugested aging it for over 10 years.
