Incredible QPR, especially compared to burgundy. IMO, this is a $150+ wine if it were of similar quality wine in burgundy. Great mouth feel, very pleasurable with notes of raspberry, anise, with good structure and a medium finish.

Got better with more time out of the bottle. Concentrated red fruit notes, with warm spice, cinnamon and a medium finish. Great mouth feel, just very pleasurable to drink!

Chicago Wine Flock...Hezi's Late 90s Trip Around the World (Hezi's - HP,IL): Tasted double blind. Blackberry and some black cherry aromas. Lighter styled fruit flavors with good spice but just moderate depth or nuance. I don't think anybody correctly identified the grape or appellation of origin. Group liked this more than I did tonight.

12/15/2011 and 12/19/2011 w venison Bourgone dinner. Light ruby rimmed, moderate to light bodied with little coherent structure, some dark fruit but little coherent flavor and mostly flat finish. Over the hill, my impression of a previous bottle as well. Better drinking 10 years ago.

Very light but brilliant ruby, with a salmon-colored rim. Nose is tight, showing mostly raspberry and sour cherry at first; with a few hours in the decanter, some floral notes developed. Fairly dry but ripe and lively. Surprisingly fruit driven. Also a surprise is how little tannin seems to be present. Good finish. Didn't show much of its personality here, despite a couple of hours in the decanter.

This wine is at the height of its life! WOW! Bright cherry and tobacco flavors with acid and tannins perfectly in balance. A real pleasure with my bolognese.

This wine was outstanding in some pretty good company. Beautiful aromas of cherry and leather, balanced on the palate, it married well with grilled NY steaks.

Medium red color, very clear, I can see through to the other side of the decanter very easily. Nose of leather and spice, with some cherries, and a little chemical toner type of smell (not in a bad way). Medium bodied and bright up front, but it bites hard on the back with ample tannin and acid.
I suspect this is nowhere near ready to drink, but I'm not sure that it's got the stuff to outlast the tannin and acid. 89?? pts. I have one more I'll try to ignore for at least another five years, it may turn out to be a pleasant surprise down the road.
