Lush and ready to seduce. No edges here, just plump fruit, subtle tannins and ample flavor. Deep, dark berries, judicious use of oak, some acidity (added bonus), good length. Nice spice, too. Very enjoyable. This was a gift -- unsure if I would feel as charitable if I'd laid down the cash but I unquestionably dug the luxury in this bottle.

Comprised of 44% Petit Verdot, 39% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc, this proprietary red blend combines smoky earth, chocolate and big, chunky fruit. Not quite as harmonius as I was hoping for, but the flavors are excellent and this was certainly a crowd pleaser.

Optimal drinking right now. Deep dark violet color and a great blend for the PV lover. Low sediment level, smoothed tannins and medium finish

Tasting of John Schwartz wines, including 3 by Heidi Barrett (Artisan Wine Depot, Mountain View, California): Dark purple red violet color; tar, olive, herbaceous, toasty oak nose; tight, ripe plum, tart cassis, red berry palate, needs 5-7 years; medium-plus finish (44% Petit Verdot, 39% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc)
