Vanilla oak, raspberries, on the nose. Sweet plum, dark cherry and carmel with some raisin and prune notes. I may have held this too long. The three others I was sharing with it, didn't enjoy it and thought it was more of a dessert wine.

This is the ultimate fruit bomb. Ultra jammy. If you like that style, this is a 10 on that scale. It does tend to overpower all but the strongest food.

I love Opolo wines, but most are for drinking upon release. Like many a Paso grape, that amazing fruit turns to raisin when cellared for more than a year or two. Couldn't finish the bottle :-(

Syrupy sweet - not my thing at all. I have been increasingly disappointed with Opolo of late - this confirms my opinion. I used to be an Opolo wine club member, but several shipments like this made us drop them. What happened?

Take cover...incomming fruit bomb. It is not so much that the wine is jammy and overly sweet, it is that the sweetness masks that great zin spice that Paso Robles can deliver. Drink this after dinner? I would not serve with rich food, it will clash.

So much fruit. I'm covered in cherry bomb shrapnel. Too much fruit. Where's the earthy, spicy, tannin stuff I love in a good zin? A bit disappointing after all the hype I'd heard about this stuff. Not bad, but too one dimensional for me. More fruit in a single glass than seems possible.

I made the mistake of serving this after the Orin Swift Prisoner. This was a giant fruit bomb. Tasted like fruit syrup. I think some lengthy decanting and a salty or even spicy meal could balance this monster. The finish was not really there. The sweetness of the fruit was too much.

Dark garnet red, bright and polished. Aromas of light oak, vanilla, carmel, dark cherry and plum. The wine is balanced, but hot with alcohol at 16.7%! This is a fruit forward, jammy wine with flavors of cherry, plum, cigar and cedar. This wine gives a sense of fruitiness that can be misinterpreted for sweet. It will dominate most foods so try it with something like barbecued pulled pork, or sit back and simply enjoy. It has a medium long finish that is pleasant until you taste the Reserve which really completes the deal!

Wonderful wine, we just recently discovered it. A lot of nice fruit, jammy taste, good berrys. It's lively from start to finish. It's a fun, refreshing red wine. This moves away from a traditional zin, but I like what they've done.

The Big Red Wines of Paso Robles (The Wine Country, Signal Hill, CA): This is not a dry red wine -- it is a dessert wine. Apple pie on the nose. On the palate, super sweet with loads of residual sugar, 16.7% alcohol, no acidity. This one definitely got away from the winemaker.

Big and powerful. Jammy, but not over the top.

Opolo's for drinking now. Like many Paso wines, any cellaring = raisins.

This is almost a dessert wine - WAY too sweet for us. Used most of the bottle to cook.

If Liberace made a zinfandel it would be like this - too fruity.

The is a big, bold Zinfandel. Fruity, peppery, oaky all at the same time. Smooth finish.

Too sweet and jammy. Overpowering. Some nice fruit but not sure it's a zin. Almost has a fortified wine taste.
