There are times in your life that you should not listen to your wife. There are other times that you should not listen to reason. Then there are the rare times that you should not listen to either your wife or to reason and just go with your gut. This was one of those times. I should have bought more than the measly four bottles I purchased from Last Bottle back in April. This is a fantastic wine—full of citrusy acidity and by no means showing any age. I got it for $11. A steal. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

One of the best under $20 wine this year with complex flavors of pear, apple, spice and minerals. A bit of oak on the finish but really a nice drink. Well done!

Nose evokes lemon curd, a bit of celery seed, as well as a nice butter croissant. On the palate, the acidity is vibrant and beyond, this wine cries for food. I would put it up with a Seafood pasta with a butter and garlic sauce. Just sayin'. thedrunkencyclist.com

I do not utter many absolutes, but if you see "Faiveley" on the bottle, buy it. The guy just makes fantastic wines. This was clean and crisp and after her first sip, my wife gave me the "Hmmpf" look. NOt the "Hmmpf, why did you buy this, you moron" look, but rather the "Hmmpf, this is pretty good, right?" look. She was spot on. Smart girl (choice of husband the one exception).

Nose of lemon with a touch of honey was more subdued than previous bottles, but when it opened up we got cinnamon toast! Again, a Meursault-like finish with oak and minerals.

This has come into its own. It has gained depth and richness in wholly unexpected ways: like a good quality Meursault! Big melon notes on the nose. Tantalizingly mineral chords, violet petals, green grass then extended buttery finish. Ridiculous RQP!

Rich nose with butter aromas yielding to succulent light caramel after opening up a little. Mouthfeel a little light--lemons with a bit of pear--but still somewhat acidic.

Light yellow color; oak, apple, ripe lemon nose; creamy textured, apple, ripe lemon palate with near medium acidity; medium finish (good value at about $15)

Similar to previous bottles. Light, crisp -- almost tart-- with bright granny smith apples, lemons, and a slight grass hint. A bit short in the finish.

A good, simple Bourgogne blanc that is true to its origins. Granny smith apples, cirtus and a hint of grass/herbs. The acidic crunch is quite good, and I can see this improving in the short term.

Inviting nose of lemons, apples and grass. Very high toned, almost tart. Crisp and light bodied, perhaps a bit thin in the middle; no real oak influence here. This fills in a bit on day 2, but still tart and edgey. A bit of a green streak, but not unpleasurable, just enough to add complexity. Good, but I would decant or cellar in the short term.

Bright, clean, focused. This was certainly not a blockbuster, but a great example of a proper Chardonnay. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

Not as good as previous bottles, seemed overly acidic but simultaneously lacking in fruit.
