I really liked this wine - it doesn't seem to have faded yet. A lovely example of California Pinot Noir - full-bodied, rich, and a long fruity finish. My last bottle

PnP. Perfect cork. Medium deep red. Intense nose of red fruits and blueberry. Good depth of flavor but a bit rough on the finish; I think this is beginning to fade. Not the finish I am used to from this wine/vineyard.

a lovely wine that is drinking nicely now - as with most CA PNs, I was disappointed with the lack of complexity in the nose - just straightforward mature red/black cherry fruit, but then what's not to like about that? - very full-bodied in the mouth with good acid-fruit-tannin balance - medium length 15 sec finish - a very good food wine for those who like new world PNs, but would not impress Burgundy lovers

Rochioli Single Vineyard Pinots continue to be among my favorites. Although almost 9 years old, this West Block Pinot continues to deliver in every aspect. California Burgundy at it's best.

Double decanted for 30 minutes. Dark red. Rich pure nose of red and blue fruits; almost liqueur of raspberries. Smooth on the palate with good richness but a bit of heat and oak at the finish. More elegance than other Rochioli SVDs (except East block), but that is a relative term as these are big ripe wines, but have a certain quality.

Reddish brown with huge legs. Nose of burnt cherries, cedar, and cinnamon. Decanted for two hours. Burnt cherry and raspberry with a lot of heat on the finish. This fruit bomb still has a lot alcohol.

Pnp, deep ruby, nose of wood spice, red and blue fruit and a creamy smoky note. Good extraction and concentration, smooth tannin, acidity leaning on low side that was overwhelmed by the heavy use of new oak. Too American and new world for my liking.

Drank with duck breast, pan roasted baby spuds and beet/mâché salad. Opened and poured directly from bottle at cellar temp an hour before dinner which was a bit of a mistake as first impression was of a young, tight and somewhat more tannic pinot. An hour later the wine had blossomed and was wonderful showing both length and great breadth. A powerful style with lovely balance and interesting delineation between the red fruits and spice notes. This has a long life ahead of it and as I only have 2 more West Block and 5 other 2008 SV Rochioli will try to wait at least a year for the next. No need to wait though, delicious now.

PnP. Hands down, the finest Rochioli PN I've ever had. Having visited the AVA for two weeks per quarter during the vintage, I knew the challenges that the growers faced, and never, expecteded a thing of such beauty, power, grace and substance would be, could be, made. This is more than wine, it's an experience. Hauntingly good, and very highly recommended, 14,5% abv, drink thru 2022.

Less fruit and more tannic qualities than you often find in a California Pinot. Midway between French and more typical California expressions. Really lovely PN.
All juice from a single field.
Expensive.

Deep in color for a Pinot Noir, black raspberry, kirsch, earth, spice and a bit of smoke and floral notes make up the interesting perfume. Silky, ripe, red fruit and spice in a rich, full, lush, supple, balanced style are found in abundance. Is there a more consistent, producer of California Pinot Noir than Rochioli?

Big wine, showed some of the smoke of the vintage. Bit of orange peel on the palate. Hoped this would be better...

Boerne wine club Nuits St Georges vs Vosne Romanee (Scenic Loop Cafe): After 14 Burgundies, this appeared too sweet, but tons of sweet, liquered fruit.

Didn't do it for me. Didn't get much from the nose and the wine lacked a certain amount of depth. Hoping the next bottle isn't like this one.
