Consistent with prior notes, although this bottle seems to have lost a bit of tension. Also, the acidity, especially initially, was a bit too much and almost made the wine seem a bit thin (if that makes sense). Still a very nice bottle - but I wouldn’t wait too long as this may very well be on the decline

At its peak and drinking perfectly tonight, the 2008 Corton-Charlie has a bit of everything: Rich, spiced pear; mushroom aromas; pure minerality; and just a slight trace of pain grillé. A more powerful wine than expected for the vintage, with large-scale spiced orchard fruit on the palate, all brought home by crisp acidity and a beautiful mineral core. The finish lingers indefinitely. This is phenomenal.

Beautiful Corton-Charlie. Mineral and linear in character, with remarkable salinity and a long, elegant, clean finish. Very easy to drink, and hands down the wine of the night. While not as rich or complex as the 2009 Boillot Puligny-Montrachet, it was the clear favorite (both unaccompanied and paired with truffled foie gras, as well as epoisse cheese)

Enjoyed this wine with two friends from Thailand. Light to medium yellow. Lemon, pineapple and mineral nose. This has sweet, round fruit and modest oak but currently the racy mineral/acid structure dominates. This wine has a teriffic future. Surprisingly, it was NOT a great match for raw oysters.

A little too much oxidization. I wish I had drunk this earlier. Still good complexity and enjoyed it with scallops.

Second bottle is bright, has apple and mineral nose. This is about structure and freshness. The fruit is fresh but not fleshy. Long mineral finish.

Flickinger "Significant Cellar" Tasting...the New Releases (Chicago, IL): Lean styled aromas, lots of orchard fruit with spice hints. Lean and precise apple flavors, plenty of acidity, moderate nuance and length.
