Naso e bocca coerenti dominati dal biancospino, di bell'attacco. Bella pienezza ma chiusura amarognola. Nessun segno di decadimento a oltre dieci anni dalla vendemmia.

An unexpected treat. Last bottle found in the rack. Lovely light gold colour, and a nose not unlike a Puligny-Montrachet with floral scents, nuts and citrus. More exotic than a P-M on the palate with hints of pineapple and melon, ending a little firmer with green peppers. Lovely 15-16/20

No detailed notes but, for those still holding this, it is still drinking very nicely. Easily another year or two to go. I was a bit concerned given the age but it is still a vibrant, beautiful wine.

This wonderful Verdicchio from Garofoli one of the top players in the Italian Marche sits on lees for a year. Pale yellow color w/green reflexes, very oily. The nose opens with fine notes of white flowers followed by apple, honeysuckle, dried citrus fruits. To the palate it is elegant, smooth, consistent, mineral. Less fruity than the nose, with herbal flavors. Med-full body, some acidity, good persistence. Long finish. Good pairing w/white meat, lobster & fish dishes. Not as pleasant w/o the company of food

Tasted at Astor Wines, NYC: Pourer said that this sat on Lees for 1 year. Pale yellow, green apple nose with salt. Palate was medium-full body, some acidity, salt, minerals. Long finish.

Pale straw yellow with greenish hue. Open nose with ripe apple to banana fruit. Almonds, salt liquorice, honeysuckle and dried citrus fruits. Dry and medium bodied palate with intense oily structure and carrying mid-level acidity. Hay, aniseed, almonds, pepper and minerality in the lengthy finish showing some phenolic grip. Perhaps some reductive character at first, but better Verdicchios always take time to open up. So, I see no problem here. Altogether a really nice richer effort. White meat, lobster etc.

A tre bicchieri wine. Pale yellow with little on the nose. Quite oily with a slightly tart/bitter aftertaste; worked well with food but not for quaffing without food. Lacked the complexity I would have hoped for from a 3 bicchieri but pretty decent. At EUR10, the QPR was OK but it should have delivered a bit more.

7/10 - Lemon, grapefruit, pomelos, some spice and crisp acidity. Not too complex but pretty enjoyable. Could have been a great QPR play, but in my opinion, the restaurant charged an astronomical price per glass.

Light yellow with green reflexes, very oily. Complex nose with honeysuckle, lemon zest, maracuja and fennel. On the palate, it's herbal and not very fruity. Good company for antipasti and other vegetable and fish dishes with olive oil and lemon. Not perfect to drink without food.

A little bit of bitterness. I remember much better bottles of 2008

Un vino che mi piace meno di una volta. Ancora di grande integrità, ma un po sblilaciato verso note grasse ed alcoliche.
