Silky, integrated, beautiful--it's mature Rioja-esque with dates, spice cake and orange peel, but there's an interesting bit of mint too. Very old school, greatly enjoyable.

Not much experience with Rioja before this. Nose and palate of mildly spicy cherry and leather, medium bodied. Nicely balanced and silky finish. This was nice at the start and improved over 2 hours.

Everything you expect from a Rioja Reserva: at first nose wood, spicy with freshly ground pepper, hints of leather. Flavours emerge from a balanced wine, acidity and alcohol, dark ripe berries, very long finish. And the best of all... a best value, great quality, low price... Pairing with herbed italian ham with a delicious melted Tilamook Chedar

Drank in several instalments over the course of a week; solid, tasty classic Rioja (with cherry, smooth leather, blah blah blah,,, tastes like good Rioja; silky texture and beautifully balanced leaning a bit more sweet than savoury; adequate but not assertive acidity; oak seemed fully integrated to me and not overdone), exceeding my low expectations given the massive discount, scarcity of critical attention, and my vaguely recalled comments from the retailer. Good from the get-go, and held up great - this is squarely in a window of prime drinking which I imagine will extend quite a while. Now I kinda regret selling/gifting my other three from the Cindy deal.

Dark, rich and silky with spice cake, orange peel, dried fruit and leathery--classic aged Rioja. Beautiful!

Very good acidity, minerality and back bone. Matched perfectly with our slow braised lamb.
