Yes it’s a big Barossan from a very hot year. Almost a port nose - maserated currents and cherries from a Christmas pudding. Taste very fruit driven, smooth and aromatic. Fast finish. Dry grape and sultana.

From what I remember it was a massive 16% alc fruit driven a-typical Barossa Shiraz. Today it was a lot more subdued, not a subtle wine, but the fruit and alcohol were more in balance. Very dry which was surprising... felt more Hunter Valley

In my humble view this is a poster child of everything that went wrong with Australian shiraz in the last 10 years. Deep purple colour with an intense and remarkable blackberry nose - i liked the nose. Unfortunately it goes downhill from here as the wine, which is very plummy, is patently over ripe and the alcohol makes it unbalanced. This was picked too late - as per the Robert Parker manual.

Very jammy but still quite enjoyable. Still a deep red color. Dark red fruits.
