Deep amber in color. Cooked pineapple, vanilla custard, dark brown spices, caramel on the nose. The palate is oily and rich with sweet apricot and orange marmalade, melted butter and brown sugar with low acidity and a medium finish that turns just a bit bitter.

Sweet and with good boytritis spice and acidity. Not as good as other vintages I have had of this. Rather monolithic in profile Should be matched with a good dessert as it dosn't hold much interest on it's own. Cellar saver at best.

Tasting Jury (Denver, CO): Another one in the closeout bin. This time for $18 for a 500ml. Terrific acidity and very bright fruits. Not exactly fresh mind you, but drinking right in the sweet spot of its maturity right now. Golden colored in the glass with a touch of acacia, nuts, almonds and honey on the nose. The crowd really enjoyed it with lemon cookies.

Dinner at home with Nick. I found this wine to be a disappointment compared to previous bottles. It was much more muted than before and also had a roughness to the palate. It didn't really seem like an off bottle, but I'm hoping it was or that the wine is currently closed. Certainly not bad, but not what I remember from our last bottle about 2 years ago. 50+11+11+7+7 = 86

Pleasant nose shows candied apricot with some honey. Taste also starts with dried apricot and a good texture. Middle had some less attractive sweet components that almost gave a saccharine-like finish.

$39.95 (500 ml full retail). Fairly dark golden color. Notes of caramel and apricot. Somewhat heavy but still fairly well balanced. Very nice.
