This wine has aged quite well for the lowest level Argyle wine. There was a bit of light Dundee fruit on the nose and pallet. The finish was long and pleasant.

Far from a stellar specimen. Only attribute would be some jolly rancher sour cherries way back at the end of the finish - but to get there first you have to suffer thru an awful (brett?) nose; then an edge of vinegar flavor spectrum mixed with some 'change the litter now' catbox; to get to the weakly tannic finish. Sorry I wasted space in the cellar for this. Any fruit that was ever here has up and died long ago. First up for worst wine of '08. Take me to the Nuthouse any day!

I drank this with dinner over 4 consecutive nights (a pregnant wife causes me to drink alone). To my taste this wine left a distinct bitterness which did not subside until the third night. This is the second bottle from this vintage that I have consumed and found neither to be very enjoyable or compelling. On to other pinot noirs.

A bit more complex and richer than the 2003. Still a medium bodied pinot at best, but has nice elegant flavors of red fruit, aromas of earth and flowers and nice acidity to bring it all together. Good sub $20 pinot.

Color: Light purple Nose: Spice, floral Taste: A very smooth wine overall. Hints of spice, floral, and earth Finish: Medium with spice, floral, and earth Evaluation: A wine more suited to someone not into over the top tastes. 87 points

Very simple, cherry/berry nose with a faint hint of earth after a couple of hours. Mostly like ludens cherry cough drops, or fake cherry candy, and a bit jammy at that. Pretty ruby medium light color. Smooth mouthfeel, Low acidity, modest tannins, medium finish. Not nearly as good as I remembered in years past. Oh well, I got what I deserve, buying without trying this vintage first.

Garnet / ruby red. Clear, even concentration. Aromas of strawberry, cinnamon, raspberry, and black cherry. Soft and sweet on the palate with light tannins and soft acidity. Lengthy finish. Simple yet enjoyable and very easy to drink

Benefitted from breathing an hour at room temp. Cherries, vanilla/oak on nose, pleasant spiciness on the palate. A bit too sweet for garlicky food but great for quaffing.

Rust (reddish-brown) color with medium-light body. Brown sugar and cherry aromas with blackberry, cherry, and spicy (black pepper) flavors. Long spicy finish.

Very nice flavor. Light, bright and refreshing, with nice, pure dark berry and a hint of smoke mingling on the lively finish. Nice little bit of spice, relatively mellow wine

Light red cherries, sage, and spicy oak on nose. Palate consists of the same components, with balanced acidity and medium length finish. Simple, yet pleasant pinot.

Rather unpleasant, with a very gamey, almost bretty nose, damp earth, and black cherry and meat on the palate. Quite intense, but not in a positive way. Odd.

Opened beautifully and quickly consumed. Very berry. Cherry. I did not taste the vanilla or chocoloate hinted at by the producer but I liked the finish. Very, very drinkable.

Sight: See through, light, typical of Pinot Noir. Smell: Berry, cherry, maybe spices, a hint of vanilla. Taste: Nice smooth texture, nice range of fruit.

This is one of lighter looking pinots I have tried. It has a nice ruby color, and good thickness. The balance between the earth aromas and black cherry smells is just right. The background contains hints of flowers, chocolate, and vanilla. The taste is jammier than other pinots I have had, but not overly so. Juicy rasberries and cherries fill the mouth from start to finish. The tannins are solid and the finish is long.
This is one of the easiest drinking wines I have had.

A bit disappointing-- light red color, light cherry flavor. Served with Thanksgiving meal, paled in comparison to the 2002 Williamette pinot noir opened afterwards.

Very enjoyable, with the classic blend of cherry, berry, and earthy flavors... all with a silky texture that makes it great wine to share with a group of friends. Not every wine should require contemplation -- some should be simply pleasurable like this one!

Lithe yet robust. Flavorful with a fairly long finish. Definitely a positive surprise for Argyle's entry level wine.

Nothing special but not bad. Age may have helped this a bit based on the other reviews. A bit sour and definitely needs some food to be enjoyed.

Popped this one the same night as a 2005 AP vin and enjoyed it more, earthy taste but medium body and a great wine for $17 bucks.

Lithe, appealing and very light in texture. Flavors of strawberry, smoke, cherry and spice. A good reliable wine every year for under $20.
