Light style reflects the vintage, while still showing reasonably fresh black fruit. A few rough edges near the finish. Still very nice, but probably better a few years back.

This wine is singing now. The alcohol that bothered me a couple of years ago is now buried under unfolding layers of tobacco-laced, anise-scented intrigue. Loved it!

Black firm comes through as firm on nose and palate with woodsy spice I enjoy. Some rough tannins on finish for now, better to cellar at least 3-5 years.

Had this with Brian and Kate. As with last time, didn't seem to capture any notes. Delicious though, with dusty cherry, still youthful, a nice sangiovese.

tight tight tight. after 90 minutes, opened enough to show what seemed to be good sangiovese notes. Better on second day, but needs more time. Next bottle in two years.

Really enjoyed this wine. (Probably would have thot it was just okay several years ago, but my palate seems to be evolving away from big ripe alcoholic monsters recently.) Very nice nose with licorice and cherry the predominant notes. More of the same in the mouth, with suberb balance, and sweet tannins indicating this wine has plenty of life ahead. Good food wine, and also really nice on its own after dinner.

Mature red cherry and berry throughout. Fresher and tastier vs a couple of bottles opened last year, but still long in the tooth.

Mature red fruit with woodsy spice. Moderate weight and depth, with a slightly drying finish. Should have finished these bottles a few years back.

not sure about this--i like it but the heat is apparent; the delicate and otherwise lovely frame can't support the alcohol.

Garagiste Treasure Hunt (Rios d' Sudamerica - Chicago, IL): Dark ruby with rich, forward red and black fruits on the nose. Tight but reveals juicy, lifted fruits. Dusty tannins on the finish. Needs time.
