Deep ruby wine with a nose of earth, cherries and leather. Good balance, but lacks pizazz. Tastes Of black cherry, leather and clove. it has a nice finish and decent acidity.

A ruby purple wine with an expressive nose of earth, cedar and violets. A truly beautiful mouth feel, opulent, but not quite plush. The tannins are really well integrated, the acidity is subtle with tastes of ripe dark fruits and a hint of cloves. The finish has a dark fruit focus and an average length.

Letting this bottle lay down has been totallly worth it. Very smooth, lots of deep flavors for cab. Tannins really mellowed out. Time to drink is now. Will be on the look out for another 2007 if I can find any.

After decanting, the first small glass had loads of cedar/oak flavors on the attack. It's now an hour later and the oak is only really noticeable on the finish, which is fairly long. Lot's of green pepper aromas. Sweet plum fruit, almost jammy, on the mid-palate. Good balance of fruit, acidity, alcohol, and tannins. This seems to be a very classic WA State Cab, where the oak is a little too much of a contributor right now. In the past, I've found that this aspect of WA Cab's does diminish with time in the bottle.

Decanted one hour prior to tasting. Big fruit on the nose and very fruit forward and a little hot to start. This wine really smoothed out after two hours and became very enjoyable. The big fruit forward palate and alcohol surprised me a bit for an'07 Washington Cab. I would recommend decanting this for at least two hours to taste this wine at its best.

Nose of dark fruit, cocoa, herbal, and cedar/spice. Plum and dark fruit flavors with decent finish. May have benefited from a longer decant. Good WA cab.

A smooth cab with a nice finish. Nice dark red fruit and balance. Started a little heavy (undecanted) but smoothed out fast so not high in tannins for a cab.

Deep ruby-purple and although there was quite a bit of sediment during my decant, the appearance was generally brilliant, with clear edges. The aromatics were stunning and not unlike the dusty, herbal, licorice-infused blackberry/cassis, which is so characteristic of low mountain Napa Cabs (think Conn Valley or St. Helena/Spring Mtn.). Initially tart, after about an hour in the decanter, that settled considerably; morphing into a sweet attack, with a richness that was nicely balanced from a similarly sweet-bright acidity. Although I'm not sensing a lot of tannin, the finish goes on and on; with emphasis again, on the sweet fruit. A compelling wine and so, a fitting foray into my Washington journey. (footnote: I attended a Northwest tasting last week, during which I tasted a couple Cadence wines and discovered a notable Gordon Brothers Merlot that, along with this L'Ecole, has me excited to venture forth!)

Wine tasting party! Our fourth bottle, this was obviously a relatively young, fruit-forward California cab, and was appreciated as such. A bit too expensive IMO.
great consistancy, beautiful finish, ready to drink now. no mocha like the Walla Walla Valley Cab but a winner none the less. much better after decanting for 30 min plus more flavors of the fruit jump out and just immensely more inviting.

Red and blue fruit on the nose. Nose also had some spice to it. Nice well balanced wine with the dark fruit coming forward. Easy drinking wine. I think everything is in harmony right now. Medium tannins. Nice wine, but lacks a wow factor.

Restaurant pop-and-pour. This showed classic Cabernet character on the nose, with currant and a bit of cedar and tobacco spice. Rich and full-bodied mouthful of fruit, and a firm but elegant structure. A good value.

Lots of dark fruit with moderate oak in the nose, 14.5 % alcohol is not really apparent surprisingly. Great fruit up front in the mouth, currants and plums, wrapped in substantial acidity, maybe a bit too much, but not over the top. Moderate finish, nice. Could use a touch more complexity...

Very solid wash state cab, balanced, smooth, nice. Tied for wotn at Vino Night V versus a collection of $20 to $35 domestic cabs. A nice bottle of wine for $29, but nothing special/extraordinary.

It has faired better than I had expected. Typical palate for Washington cab. Has not really changed much from what I remember, but holding up well.

Very nice, very Bordeaux-like but without the dirt/green sensations.

Good, not great WA cab. Slightly acidic tannins. Maybe needs more time. Dark fruit on nose and initially on palate. Finishes a little tart.

A lovely bottle. Not a lot of complexity but nicely balanced. A hint too much oak for me but undeniably tasty.

LIVESTRONG Lance Armstrong Charity Foundation Tasting (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had blackberry and cherry, leather and floral notes, and a touch of cedar at the end. The palate was rich, with black cherry and floral notes, cherry and leather, and a good spicy finish.
