From the winemaker:
2009 Grenache "Upside Down" is a cuvee of 84 % Grenache, 11 % Syrah and 5 % Mourvedre. Some
whole clusters were used here too and the vineyard sources were almost exclusively from our own
Eleven Confessions and Cumulus vineyards, with just some 6 % coming from Bien Nacido (Mourvedre
and a touch of Grenache). Only 20 % new oak was employed and the wine is truly stunning. A big wine,
but not at all heavy, but rather lithe and agile. Everything we look for in a great California Grenache. I
strongly urge you not to miss it.
