Winery notes: The Paderewski Vineyard (named for the famous pianist who used to own this land) is located in the hills above the west-side of Paso Robles. Justin Smith of Saxum was hired to plan out this vineyard which is planted exclusively on hillsides of almost pure white limestone. The 2010 is our first vintage working with this vineyard. The majority of the wine was aged 19 months in 300 liter hogsheads made with light and medium toast French oak known to integrate thoroughtly and maintain transparency and pure fruit expression. The final blend is 49% Grenache, 39% Syrah and 12% Mourvedre. The wine possesses a beautiful nose of bringt red and black fruit with perfumed and floral aromatics. On the palate, it is full bodied with refined texture. 110 cases. 15.5% ABV.
