Notes from Kurt Beitler / Boheme website: "Que Syrah Vineyard, at the edge of Sonoma Coast AVA, may be the coolest-climate Syrah planting in California. The vineyard is framed by swaying redwoods, the scent of bay trees and a view of offshore waves. Summer days start with cool and foggy mornings that yield to blue skies and warm afternoons.

Ripening Syrah grapes at Que Syrah Vineyard requires creative and devoted farming: Vines are pruned early to get a head start on the growing season. Shoots and leaves are trimmed multiple times to increase sunlight on the fruit and to aid ripening. In the late season imperfect berries are removed by hand from each cluster to achieve the most uniform crop.

2004 Que Syrah Syrah is characterized by aromas of flint, white pepper, smoke and pumice with mineral and dried meat flavors. The color is bright magenta; acidity is firm. Alcohol 14.5% - $50 / 750 mL btl
