I expected much more for a (relatively speaking) high end Shafer Chardonnay -- $45 at Costco. Just about nothing going on with this Chardonnay. Tastes like a $12 bottle of cheapie stuff. Astoundingly poor QPR and a wine to avoid. My wife and I could not make it through the first glass. Not a corked bottle (in case you're wondering).

A big wine that benefits from a lengthy decant. Very Napa cabernet. Nothing special, but pretty good. Dark, currants, and grapey. Tamed tannins. Not a layered or complex wine. Slightly off-putting "green" aftertaste. Fruit harvested too early with this vintage? Not a top value California cabernet.

Fruity and bold. Some dustiness. A pretty good wine, but definitely overpriced.
