Light golden straw coloring with effusive aromas of pear, custard apple, honeysuckle, dried apricot, peach, and honey. The wine is well-defined, with good acidity, but completely falls apart on the finish with aggressive stewed/baked fruit/Christmas spice flavors that are unpleasant. A very solid effort, but not one I'd seek out again.

Troon is converting to biodynamic viticulture which is good/bad, but most likely bad for this particular offering which I believe is sourced from the Aardvark Vineyard near Talent. They state 14.8% ABV which seems almost impossible after tasting this delightfully demure little beauty.
A bright ruby coloring with miles of spearmint, fresh oregano, lemon verbena, cinnamon, strawberry and rhubarb with a hint of licorice. An orgasm of herbs and berries. Beautiful structure, plenty of spritely fruit on the palate. Perhaps a few subtle stewy notes, but easily a bargain for a high-toned wine in the Southern Rhone. Love the style and price.

Obnoxious aromas of imitation vanilla nearly sent me scrambling for a spit bucket as I poured a taste. Mega Purple artificial color. Aromas of imitation vanilla, oak sawdust, Smuckers, burnt caramel, nitrates, and artificial smoke. An initial creamy blueberry/blackberry syrup gives way to a muddled mixture of drying tannins and harsh acids. Finish of plastic and antiseptic. This might be the worst made wine I've ever tasted. Seriously. There is no way to tell what the underlying fruit actually tastes like. This belongs in the malt beverage category at best. Beyond gross.
