Decanted at home and brought to the restaurant in the cleaned bottle; minor sediment. Beautiful nose, tannins resolved, lovely pinot fruit. Fully open after 10 minutes in the glass. Very, very slight orange edge; the wine will not die anytime soon but will not get any better either. So much for its premature demise. Lovely to drink, but it is in the elegant style and lacks the depth and richness of a grand cru; 92 points nevertheless. BTW: 'Henri de Villamont' is a Savigny-Les-Beaune house name chosen by the owners, a large Swiss firm. Grands Echezeaux is their only grand cru.

Had two bottles within one week, from my cellar; bought retail Nov. 2019. Both bottles very golden, low acid, but no TCA or premox on the nose. But the first bottle was tired; no energy, no liveliness. Second bottle was better but not as good as a bottle I served March 2023 which needed decant time and scored 93 pts. In my experience, this wine needs drinking and soon...

This is well made and is perfectly ready. It will probably drink well for another 5 years. My companions enjoyed it more than I. For me it lacks the elegance of many Magnien wines; it is a bit heavy, dense and earthy instead. Considerable sediment so decant. Benefits from some aeration; I gave it 4 hours and it never did fade in the glass.
