Starting our Friday evening on the terrace overlooking the Penedes valley, we open the white to not a whole lot of fruit or zing. The aromas are a bit musty right off the nose. Upon tasting, it enters with a bit of a harsh minerally taste and then finishes with a soft fruit. With a heavier, almost glycerol feeling, the wine doesn't have a whole lot of acidity. Going back to the nose after the taste, we get a few more ripe fruits- baked apple and banana. A longer finish, lingering.

2007 Azienda Giribaldi Langhe Nebbiolo Accerto

A fairly closed nose to begin with, we get a bit of plum and cherry and sweet black prunes. Wood fire/ smoke also come through with cinnamon and clove. Well balanced on the taste- oak, tannins, fruit, acidity, not too heavy. It's a really nice wine.
