Light to medium without being a "pretty' wine. Superb garnet with just hints of age creeping in. Excellent, sparkling clarity. Fence roses, red raspberries, sweet cherry, and forest floor on the nose proceeding to a fairly consistent pallet where those sweet elements are foiled by cedar, black pepper and bitter cherry. Bitter cherry is pronounced on the long finish. Tannins are very fine but still assertive and not fully integrated. Well balanced with the complicated the fruit and still bright acidity. I suggest two more years will convert this interesting wine into a beautiful and very complex experience.

Tasted after 2 hours decanted. Sweet nose of ripe blackberry and rose with a hint of cinnamon. Resinous quality lurking with died sage and fresh thyme. On the palate, fruit is barely-ripe black plum. Sweet but the sour skin is prominent and delivering tart acidity and very fine tanins. Rare roast beef. The dried sage more prominent here without the more spicey and herbacious fresh thyme. Woody stems. Lovely late and delicate finish of sweet vanilla. Very well balanced. Needs time.

Delighted with this wine and it's present state. I think it is perfectly mature. On first observation, it seems simple and charming with medium to light body, smooth and rounding mouth feel with light smoke and candy apple flavors on the palate. With food, in this case an excellent barbequed pulled pork, this wine absolutely explodes with red fruit and black pepper flavors. It more than stood up to the robust meat and sauce flavors delivering a one plus one equals five tasting experience. Excellent moderately priced Pinot from a wonderful vintage.
