Color: deep garnet Nose: cherry, plum, earth, leather Taste: plum, earth, tart cherry, herbs, licorice This is a very young wine with lots of promise. A full mouth full with strong yet round tannins, energetic. On second pour a subtle salty sea taste. This will be a very fine wine in 6+ years. NB: Sassicaia means place of stones
Color: ruby Nose: cherries, play dough Taste: tart cherries, tobacco Caveat: winery states this is young and not ready now, so my notes and scores probably do reflect this. There are strong mouth drying tannins, lots of mid palate puckering, not a lot of fruit showing right now.
Color: bright ruby Nose: strawberry, cherry and herbs Taste: tart cherries This was the first wine int eh Tenuta san guide tasting, the most basic and simple. It was very soft, almost thin, with nothing mid palate and no real finish. I found it very drying in the mouth. It is meant to be the " everyday" wine for TSG and intended to drink now. I'm not sure if it will develop in the bottle.
