I second the rec. to air this out - it got better every hour. I thought this wine was quite restrained on the nose - notes of red fruit. Lots of mineral and cassis notes on the taste, elements of plum, cherries were muted but there. Good robust tannins, but not harsh. This wine will improve with time, but I doubt it will turn into a door-buster. Perhaps something to accompany a nice meal. I bought a case of this at Costco. Will drink one every six months or so to see how it evolves.

Not quite a tasting note as a comment for now...This wine confirms the trend of older wine producing styles making way for the new. This wine combines the easy drinkability of california with notes from the old world.

I, unfortunately, love coffee as much as I love wine. So, right now, I am drinking this bottle with a slightly singed tongue. This review is consequently flawed. In any case, I forge ahead:

The aroma is pretty good - cherries, berries. It isn't quite bursting out of the glass, but still quite pleasant. The wine is very new-worldish - not what I was expecting, but pretty good. It is well-structured too. Overall, a very pleasant experience, paired with a bag of Stacy's Pita Chips. ;-)

Costco, for $13.50 - it is a good stocker for everyday drinking. If ratings were scaled for QPR, I'd give it a 90-91.
