Wife and I had a nice little Italian dinner to celebrate something. Tried AGO, it’s Robert Deniro’s italinan restaurant on Melrose. Aired the wine for 30min the bottle in my cellar before taking it with. While the wine was good, it was showing signs of over-aging which was really surprising. Still good structure and a good amt of sentiment, tanins were fading. Great wine when it was in its prime no doubt, but I think I opened this bottle either a year or two late or aired for too long?

Decanted 30min at the restaurant, should have gone another 30-45min. Nose seemed a bit corky to me, but everyone else said it was just fine. This is a huge wine, needs a good amt of time to open. Very juicy, red fruit.. All in all very, very good juice. Not worth the price on this bottle for me.

This is a big wine. Popped and poured at Angelini… Took a good 45 mins to really open in the glass. Big candy, fruit. Normally I wouldn’t be into a sweetness that strong on the nose but this wine is so well put together -- just ridiculous how good it is..
