Big spice notes with vanilla, blue and red fruits coming through with some chocolate and violets on the nose. Palate- Smooth feel, big but nice balance and not over blown with good fruit structure of plums, licorice, coffee, hint of vanilla with slight minty notes and nice underlying oak use. Great QPR!
Decanted for 5 hours. Green notes, leafy feel, eucalyptus and red fruits on the nose. Palate- after 5 hours, it was medium bodied, high acid profile showing off with soft fruit tones of blackcurrants with leafy notes. Likely at its peak after an hour or two in the decanter.
Interesting nose of dark cherries, dark briary fruits, minty feel with light liquorice notes, some herbs and pencil lead aromas. Palate- med bodied with good weight, med acidity level with firm dry tannins. Not as dramatic as the nose but presenting with blackcurrant fruits and a leafy touch with pepper that is not wholy complex.
