The wine was rather too cold, just out of the cellar and not decanted. It nevertheless had an adequate nose. It was ruby/rust coloured, still plenty of life in it. Strong and full-bodied as is normal with the sun from the south of Italy, though without the rough texture sometimes found. The aroma lasted as well as the taste, though not outstandingly attractive to me, it was nevertheless a good drink setting off the meat and cheese dinner well. Looking forward to another bottle in a year or so.

Excellent wine. Somehow never opened the case because I preferred wines I knew were good. A local wine for me from producers who managed a wine magazine in Paris. Many say they produce the best Coteaux du Languedoc. Certainly this must be up there. I've never tasted a better one, but I haven't drunk that many either.
Colour very deep ruby, slightly rusty but still plenty of depth. Bouquet smooth, but complex - a little new worldy perhaps for some, but not for me. Plenty of fruit. Excellent balance of maturity and vigour.
The taste is deep and lasting. Maybe without the refinement of a truly outstanding wine. The fruity taste suggest that it has some years left in it, which is good news as I have a case of Magnums as well.
Not similar to a good Bordeaux, as some imply, but comparable, I agree. It shows that the region can produce quality - let's hope others follow.

Well, it's okay. It has relatively little bouquet, dry and refreshing for what there is, but not particularly pleasant and it fades quickly. It's colour is a red with a little rust. The taste is tannic, dry but has nothing really of the fruit that could be expected. I don't think one should expect more from a $8 a bottle wine. Good for a party or suchlike, but surely there is better at this price for a nice dinner.
