Needs decanting for about 2 hours to reveals aromas of red fruits, as berries (esp. wild strawberries) cherries and currants. Also scents of rose petals and oaky vanilla. Full bodied with oily texture and still harsh tannins. Flavors of tar, leather, cedar, prunes, cherries and saturated oil smoke. Very long and deep finish. Excellent wine to keep for at least a decade.

Red brick. Scents of sour cherries, oaky vanilla and smoke. Medium bodied with still vibrant tannins and flavors of cherry jam, spices, oak and wood. Medium aftertaste.

Deep garnet, with a brown rim. Scents of barnyard, red fruits and oak. Medium bodied with melted tannins (absolutely ready to drink now), and flavors of oak, spices and wood. Less level of fruit. A bit one dimensioned wine. Good match with roast lamb.
