Stong and powerful, ideally balanced. Very enjoyable after ca 1 h of breathing in the decanter. Aromas: strong and ripe black currants, sweet plums, chocolate, spices. Palate: ripe dark berries, balanced acidity, medium and well integrated tannins.

The nose was clean and chalky with notes of balanced but subtle yellow fruitiness and nice oak maturation; the wine (Chardonnay) was medium-bodied with a palate which was again clean, with minerality combined with creaminess from balanced oak ageing, of medium acidity. No long finish but all in all a very pleasant bottle best to go with some fattier/creamier seafood dish.

The 2008 vintage was fresh, crispy, mineral in the nose, with hints to half-ripe yellow apples. The palate was well integrated, not too fruity but mineral, with already nicely smooth and velvety acidity; with a herbacious and bit pepperly after-taste. Ideal to pair with stronger creamy French cheeses, such as Chaumes.
