A really nice Sauvignon Blanc from Spain,good acid with nice fruit, long finish, more Sancerre than nz, drank with crab cakes and asparagus , $48 on Viking wine list, 13.5% abv, drank easily, would drink again, medium body, just a nice surprise.

A nice light Beaujolais, fruity, some acid, drank easily, drank with chateaubriand, $24 on Viking wine list, might drink again but nothing special.

I had a similar experience with D'Arenberg's Dead Arm, but there is no universal rule for this - you have to look at individual bottles, even within a label, to see which country is cheaper. Pity they don't have Melville;
