An OK offering. A reasonable balance of fruit and spice on the nose. A bit of heat as well. There is an odor that I could not clearly identify - overripe fruit? Nothing outstanding, but certainly not a fruit bomb. A touch of blue cheese when the wine hits my tongue followed by flat fruit then spice. Not a great deal of complexity. Overall, a decent daily drinker especially for under $10.

A disappointment. Starts with berry and moves to hints of spice but is surprisingly light. Although labeled a Super Tuscan, I would not consider it a reasonable example of the "designation" even at $10 a bottle. I am even more surprised that Wine Spectator gave this wine 90 points, and rated #61 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2009.
