On opening, some funk resembling hydrogen sulphide, but it blew off quickly. Then some blue fruit. Moderately deep red color. Has acidity and softened —though not completely—tannins. Pairing with Yemeni fasolia sauce and potatoes dramatically enhanced the tannins, making them sparkle and lengthening the finish. Very pleasing bottle and reasonably priced at $14 in NYC. I will buy again. BTW, the Lot valley is a nice cycling alternative to nearby Perigord, with impressive prehistoric art.

Don’t expect St Emilion quality here, but it is a decent $15 bottle. A little better on the second night. Very nice label and name.

Tried a second bottle. The wine is turbid with precipitate. Cooked red fruit on the nose. Some sourness. Dumped.
