Enjoyed with some friends on their anniversary who are slaves to cab franc. Not sure if this was a little bottle variation or what but this bottle didn't seem to have the depth of the other bottles i've consumed. I'm hoping it isn't on the decline and I've just missed the apex but i'll be drinking my remaining bottle soon.
Very dark purple with a red meniscus. I get a little bit of high alcohol on the nose with primarily blackberry, cassis with a slight undertone of blueberry on both the nose and flavor. Very smooth and round with surprisingly resolved tannins. Ripe and really indicative of Napa cult wine for me but very enjoyable, not generally my style but I am scoring it for the style not my palate.
