When you get too much power without depth...it's a slap in the face. I was so disappointed... The only facet of a cheap sparkling wine that this didn't have was a foul smell. Just to make sure you know I have some perspective; I have had 7 sparkling wines/champagnes in the last two weeks... all were less than $40 and all were heads and shoulders better than the Schramsberg.

Tasting comprised of two very different experiences of the uniquely Sardinian Cannonau Grape. 1.The Is de fundi a manu was a bit frizzante and piquant ...similar to a rose gruner veltliner or even a well made, blend of Lambrusco rose.... It was precise but not very useful except if it were a summer afternoon. 2. The Kussas intrendi manu arreta was a mediterranean beauty in bare feet walking the rocky hills, feminine, flowing of the essence of the place/wine maker’s vision. It was balanced and transitioned perfectly from the nose to a lingering of rose petals. Lighter than burgundian /pinot noir glycerin bodies/really old barolos.... It immediately made me order a frozen cocoa and hazelnut dessert.... The distinctly different yeasts/tannins in these two wines seem apt for foods that are off beat/new wave. The high alcohol had no residual sugar and the wines were so light, lovely and quaffable that you could easily drink one after another like a first year sorority pledge getting trashed on cosmos. Throughout the tasting I felt a bit as if I was at an art gallery checking myself on why I didn't see what everyone was raving about... Great marketing story.... Unique, well made wines ? oh yeah but are these $50 wines?....I'll get back to you on that....
