Bottle from the private Dow cellar in Porto. Color has developed into a golden red that should be expected for a half century old bottle. Figs, strawberrys, dates and more fig. Fully developed, sweet and syrupy...Just beautiful

Unbelievable nose. Licorice berries just a hint of spice. Incredible red Amber hue. Taste unexpectedly more delicate than the nose would suggest. Medium tannins and solid finish. Great wine - not sure I agree with the 100 WS ' best Costa Russi ever' but fab non the less. One more bottle will hold and drink in the 2020's.

Dark almost purple in color, cherry and lime fragrance, medium viscosity. Opened up beautifully albeit still relatively young. Full berry taste with hint of citrus and stone. Quite tannic with a finish that went on for a while. Ill hold my other bottles for a few more years. I understand why WS rated this in the top 3 for 2012. All in all about the best value for money I tasted for a while.
